A girl saw this on my other blog and fell in love with it and wanted to know if she could buy it. I directed her to my deviantart account and told her that if she did buy a copy to send me a picture of the print because I wanted to see how it looked in the print version. I thought she’d forgotten about it but she did buy it and she was so nice, she did send me a picture of it and she asked me what my name was in case anyone asked who the artist was. I guess this was a pretty cool thing which happened last year. It made me feel like an artist.

I posted this drawing on my other blog a while ago but didn’t quite reveal the truth about it, that it’s kind of a self-portrait. After having issues with the way you look for years, nothing helps more than doing a drawing of yourself, a drawing which expresses what you are feeling. Nothing is more satisfying than colouring your face with that pastel and not being afraid to go deeper with the dark brown pastel. Each stroke was done with love and affection for myself and I tried to put passion, fear, determination and humanity into her eyes to make her more human. To remind myself of what makes me human. Hmm. I kind of make doing a self-portrait sound like masturbation. Zoom
